
Race Day Details
The 66th Lions Club Yankee Homecoming Road Race takes place Tuesday, July 28, with 5K and 10-mile courses through downtown and coastal corridors. The Newburyport Police Department will manage intersections and temporary lane controls in coordination with race organizers.
Traffic & Parking
Expect:
- Temporary lane restrictions near the start/finish area before and during the race
- Limited on-street parking along the race corridor in the early morning
- Brief delays for cross traffic when packs of runners pass
Businesses along the route are encouraged to post race-day hours on doors and social channels.
Spectator Tips
Cheer from sidewalks and stay behind volunteer barriers. Do not enter the roadway. Pets should remain leashed and clear of the running lane.
Emergency Access
Emergency vehicles retain priority at all times. If you must travel during race hours, allow extra time and follow officer directions.
